My sister is Autistic and many autistic people have special interests including my sister. Her special interest is Pokemon, she has all of the games and a lot of merchandise including cards, and plushies. I also enjoy playing Pokemon especially with my sister. Most of the time that we spend together involves playing Pokemon. Pokemon, and video games in general are some of the few things that my sister and I both enjoy. Whenever my sister has a bad day, I can start a conversation about Pokemon, and she would feel better.
She was really excited when I got my first shiny Pokemon which is a Pokemon that has a different color from the rest of its species. I remember the first and only time I ever beat my sister in a Pokemon battle. We were both playing Pokemon X and Y, we were down to our last Pokemon each which were both Legendaries. Hers was a dark type and mine was a fairy type and so, I had the type advantage. My Pokemon used two fairy type moves thus, knocking out her Pokemon and so, I won that battle.
She was a little disappointed that she lost but was also happy for me. One time, she helped me defeat the original Pokemon Pearl by trading me her level 70 Pokemon for one of my Pokemon that was a way lower level. She gives me advice on how to find certain items and fight certain battles. Sometimes, our mom pokes fun at us for talking about Pokemon.
I can honestly say that without Pokemon, my sister and I would not be as close as we are now.
