I do not believe that standardized tests are a good way to measure intelligence. Giving out standardized tests is like expecting a goldfish to climb a tree or a squirrel to swim in the ocean because, not everyone processes information the same way. There are people who are smart but are just not good at taking tests. Some people get test anxiety which could result in them not doing very well and/or could miss one or several of the key questions of the exam. There are also different types of intelligence including intellectual, emotional, and cultural. Many people do not even have a safe place to study. People come from all sorts of different backgrounds, meaning that the information in one's mind varies from person to person.
Unfortunately, the easiest way to measure a person's intelligence is to use standardized tests. It is unavoidable for higher education to use standardized tests because there are not many ways to see if someone is smart enough to enroll in their school. State standardized tests are also used to determine budgets for school and how a teacher is performing in their classroom. Standardized tests measure what someone knows about a particular subject or in the case of IQ tests, how many random facts a person has memorized, not their intelligence as a whole.
