Baggage

They say when you come to church

You need to leave your baggage at the altar

But how can I do that?
When it’s tied tightly around my chest

I can’t breathe

This baggage won’t let me free

I can’t focus

Does this baggage even have a purpose?

My bags are heavy

Yet, I cannot let them go

Leaving them at the altar sounds easy

But is actually very difficult

Everyone else seems fine

All dressed to the nines

But no matter how dressed up

It’s all just stuff

Even though God has it taken care of

I still have trouble giving him the bags
