Is my autism a superpower?
Thor can manipulate lightning
Captain America has superhuman strength
And then there is socially awkward me
I do notice things that others miss
Yet I am also completely oblivious
I ask questions others are afraid to ask
But, put me on stage and I'll have a panic attack
I can be very organized
Yet completely scatterbrained
I can mask my symptoms really well
But afterwards i would be completely drained
My brain works differently than others
And some are not willing to understand
That my world is different from theirs
And that I don’t fit into their cookie cutter mold
I fight against stereotypes everyday
I apparently inspire others just by living
I educate others when they ask
Is my autism a superpower?
