Why I think the DC metro should add more train lines

There are no train lines that just go through Northern Virginia or Maryland. I think that adding train lines that go through these parts will make public transportation more convenient for a lot of people because they do not have to travel through DC in order to get to their destination. Adding  more train lines will also increase the number of people who use public transportation because of its convenience and it is already cheaper than driving. I also believe that the time taken to go place to place will be shorter because there will be less transfers to get from place to place. If a metro line breaks down, there are more ways to work around it instead of just waiting hours for the train to start working again. Having more train lines will also result in train cars being less crowded and thus more comfortable to travel in. Since the train lines won't go through DC, the DC stations will not get even more crowded.
