Stupid Vandalism

Once upon a time in the average town of Pooshie Indiana, lived three average looking tenth graders, Marcus Bishop, Leon Rosewood, and Harmony Jamison. The three attended Dawson Briggs High school. One morning, Harmony was telling Marcus about how upset she was that her tamagotchi died last night because she forgot to set her alarm last night to get up and feed it. Marcus said to her that everytime he tries to take care of a tamagotchi it always dies within a few hours.

 “Tamagotchis are way too needy,” said Marcus and saying this made Harmony feel better. While Harmony and Marcus continue walking the halls, 

Harmony says,”I was at the bus stop and some crazy person put a traffic cone on top of this really tall street pole”. Before Marcus could even reply

 Leon barges in between the two of them and says, “guys guess what I did last night”,

 “Did you take a traffic cone and put it on top of a street pole?” said Marcus. “

Yeah, wait…. How did you know I did that?” replied Leon. 

Marcus said, “Harmony saw the traffic cone on the pole, dumbass, and how the hell did you get that traffic cone up there?.

 Leon replied, “well I put the cone on my head and climbed up there like how Mulan did it in her movie”.

 “Leon you’re an idiot” said Harmony, Just then the bell rang and the three of them ran to class. 

During lunch, Leon said “I am going to the mall and draw the Simpsons characters on the yellow poles outside, do you guys want to come with?”. 

Marcus replied “What time are you going to the mall?”. 

Leon replied, “My bro,Thomas and I are going to go at around midnight after the mall closes and all of the employees have gone home”. 

“How are you going to sneak out this time? Didn’t your parents just come home after an out of town business meeting?” Harmony asked. 

Leon replied “There’s no need to worry, my parents could sleep through an elephant stampede and besides Thomas is over eighteen now, so we can get around the city wide curfew”. 

Harmony said, “I want to come, my mom is working the night shift this week so I will be able to sneak out pretty easily”. 

“Marcus, do you want to come too?” Leon asked. 

Marcus replied, “I want to but, you know my dad is a cop I’d be screwed If I got caught besides, last time I got caught sneaking out, my dad made me wear that stupid shirt to school”. 

“You mean the one that said I was still wetting the bed at thirteen” Harmony said.

 Marcus replied, “yeah that one, people called me pee pee boy for the next two months, it was awful”. 

“It was hard to be your friend during that time”, Harmony said. 

Leon replied, “Your loss Marcus”. 

Just then the three teens had to get back to Mrs. Patterson’s English class.

The next morning, Marcus overheard his Dad complaining that he had to investigate the vandalism at the mall. 

Detective Bishop said, “ It’s so dumb that I have to investigate an act of vandalism when I should be investigating more serious crimes like murder and robbery, ugh fifthteen years on the force and this is what I get. 

Marcus’ mom replied, “Honey, there has not been a murder in this town in the past ten years”.

 “ I know, I just wish this town was a bit more interesting”, said Detective Bishop.

 Marcus thought to himself, “I know I should tell dad that Leon and Harmony were responsible for the vandalism but I do not want to get them in trouble and besides, they are my only friends”. 

Marcus quickly finished his cereal, said goodbye to his parents and his little sister Katie, then caught the bus to school.

During lunch, Marcus, Leon, and Harmony were all sitting together. Marcus started the conversation by saying, “So the Simpson mall plan worked?” 

“Yeah it was awesome”, Leon replied.

 Harmony then said,” we are going to go around spray painting some places tomorrow night, Do you want to come?” 

Tomorrow was Friday so it was not a school night.

 “My Dad was complaining about how this town was not interesting enough, so I want to make it more interesting”, said Marcus. All three of them laughed.

“So you’re coming?” asked Leon. 

“Yes, I’m coming”, said Marcus. 

“Good”, Leon said. 

Harmony replied “we should spray paint the words open on Sundays on the Chick Fila right by our school”. 

Leon replied, “Good idea, also we should spray the words stomach murder on the side of the Taco Bell”. 

“Isn’t the Taco Bell open twenty-four hours? We would definitely get caught”, said Marcus.

 Harmony replied, “don’t be such a buzzkill Marcus”. Just then, the bell rang so the three of them went back to Mrs. Patterson’s English class.

That Friday night Leon and Thomas went by Marcus’ place at around eleven at night. Once Marcus saw Thomas’ car, he snuck out of his second story bedroom window using a makeshift rope ladder. After Marcus got into the car with Leon and Thomas they went to pick up Harmony from her house. Marcus was questioning whether or not he should tell his Dad but he felt like it was too late to tell him now. They picked up Harmony at around 11:30 pm and then headed off to their first target which was the local Chick Fila. They arrived at the Chick Fila and waited till all of the employees went home and the lights were off. Once all the employees were gone for the night, Leon grabbed a bottle of spray paint from the trunk and spray painted “Open on Sundays” on the side of the Chick Fila. While he was doing this, Marcus asked Thomas if they could stop by Walmart and grab a bunch of toilet paper and TP Mrs. Patterson’s house. Thomas and Harmony asked Marcus why he wanted to do this and Marcus said, “because Mrs. Patterson is always mean to me. I honestly think she hates me”. Harmony and Thomas liked the idea to TP Mrs. Patterson’s house. Once Leon finished spray painting the Chick Fila, The group told him of the plan to TP Mrs. Patterson’s house and Leon agreed with the plan. So the group stopped by Walmart and picked up a bunch of toilet paper. Then the group went to Mrs. Patterson’s house and started to TP it. Everyone was laughing the whole time that it was surprising that Mrs. Patterson did not wake up. Since Thomas and Marcus were the tallest they TPed the roof of the house while Leon and Harmony did the bushes and front yard. Afterwards all four of them went back into the car laughing their butts off. Then the four of them headed to the nearest taco bell. Leon, Harmony, and Marcus got out of the car and got spray paint cans from the trunk. Leon started spray painting “Stomach Murder” on the side of the taco bell while Marcus and Harmony were painting pieces of poop on the parking lot. Before they could finish there was an employee inside who called the police who came very quickly and arrested the four of them. 

All four of them were handed large fines by Chick Fila and Taco Bell in order to pay back for the damage that they caused and were also ordered to do forty hours of community service by the local judge. Mrs. Patterson did not press charges because she is a very well known cheapskate and had run out of toilet paper that night. In order to pay back the fines they accumulated the teens had to get part time jobs. Leon got a job as a sign flipper for a local laundromat however he is terrible at it and keeps dropping the sign. Harmony got a job working at a pizza place but she is lactose intolerant so she can't eat any of the free food that is there. Marcus got a job at a local baby gap and has decided that he does not want any children in the future. Marcus also regrets not telling his father about the vandalism. Detective Bishop is still bored at his job and wants something interesting to happen.
